week 11 of 2024
i love the warm tones of natural minimalism. this is the sort of stuff that keeps me balanced when life gets so chaotic.
Another missed weekend and double-post. I’ve been so busy that these posts get missed. Too many projects. Dealing with sinus issues that leave me unfocused and mentally slow. Too much effort to get through the required work and so these posts get ignored. So it goes.
Reviewing the past couple of weeks and there’s not much to share. I’ve had my head down working on stuff. Clipped a ton of stuff for future review. That’s my work for the upcoming week.
I built a post of places where you can build an online identity. These are the quick home landing pages that you can use to link out to your various online channels. Think of these as your online business card. You can use these as the link in your bio or email signature.
Otherwise, here are a few interesting quotes that I clipped recently…
Dystopian fiction is when you take things that happen in real life to marginalized populations and apply them to people with privilege.
One of the surest tests [of the superiority or inferiority of a poet] is the way in which a poet borrows. Immature poets imitate; mature poets steal; bad poets deface what they take, and good poets make it into something better, or at least something different. The good poet welds his theft into a whole of feeling which is unique, utterly different than that from which it is torn; the bad poet throws it into something which has no cohesion. A good poet will usually borrow from authors remote in time, or alien in language, or diverse in interest.
